ManagEnergy at the Open Days
ManagEnergy is organizing a workshop in the framework of the Investors' Café thematic village
"energy" on
"helping municipalities to work in the framework of the Covenant of Mayors". The workshop will take place in the morning of the
8 October 2008.
The objective of this workshop is to discuss and share ideas and good practices on:
- What is the Covenant of Mayors and why is it important for local and regional energy agencies to be involved?
- Local partnership for sustainability: How can local and regional energy agencies contribute to municipalities' efforts and in particular to smaller municipalities with fewer energy-related resources?
- How can the services offered by local energy agencies be better recognized by local authorities?
- How can ManagEnergy support local energy agencies in their work with municipalities and help them increase their visibility?
The main target groups of the workshop are local energy agencies, municipalities and group of municipalities, regions and other local actors (i.e. Enterprise Europe Network members, etc.)
In addition, ManagEnergy will be running a stand where the ManagEnergy team will promote the tools and services of ManagEnergy.

Why should Local and Regional Energy Agencies attend?
The ManagEnergy workshop will highlight the clear mandate that the Covenant is offering to local and regional energy agencies. The energy agencies have a role to play in supporting the municipalities in their actions and especially the small ones who do not have enough resources. This will contribute to better the visibility and sustainability of the regional and local energy agencies.
Therefore, the energy agencies are welcome to attend the workshop in order to contribute to the debate with their respective ideas and experiences. Last but not least, local and regional energy agencies will have the opportunity to make fruitful contacts with a wide range of local actors such as cities, regions, members of the Enterprise Europe Network as well as colleagues from local and regional energy agencies.
